Over the years, Colorado's population has continued to increase. Looking at statistics from 2019 to 2020, the population increased by almost 100,000 people. Only 20% of Americans said property crime isn't a problem and almost 50% of Americans have been victims of property crime. The University of North Carolina-Charlotte Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology conducted a survey of 422 inmates in prison for burglary. 83% of inmates stated they looked for alarms at their target and, out of that 83%, 60% of them were deterred when discovering an alarm system.
